Particularly suited to acoustic situations, it faithfully and very naturally reproduces the sound of your instrument with precision, dynamics and allows comfortable levels on stage without a microphone stand.
  • All our products are manufactured and assembled in France by hand, with awareness and respect for a job well done, only with high quality components, for products that we hope will bring you satisfaction for many years on stage, in the studio and at each of your performances amplified.
  • You made the right choice, the model J48A can be installed without intervention on the instrument, it works on 9v battery (500 hours), the output Jack is asymmetric (Jack/Jack mono), it also has a volume wheel option (to be placed on the edge of the vent or rosette) and adapts to many instruments ...

  • We strongly recommend that you take a few minutes to read this manual. Indeed, it is important to respect a few principles in order to benefit simply and quickly from these new systems.

What you need to know

  • To install this system, refer to the “Installation on your instrument” section of this knowledge base.
  • Always unplug your instrument before attempting placement again or changing the low cut.
  • Your system has a low cut inside the Jack. 360Hz is the default position for acoustic instruments, your system is delivered to you in this position. However, if after doing your testing you are running out of bass width, then try 180Hz (Mid position) or Flat (Full bandwidth, not recommended).
  • The electronics contained in the socket Jack is fragile. Operate delicately to act on the low cut. A small pointed object is needed to operate the switches.
  • You will find transparent double-sided with your system. Use it to fix the Jack on the splice, the cable clips and the microphone. You will also find putty adhesive audio. Use it to secure cables inside the instrument or system components to an instrument with particularly fragile varnish. For some instruments that are not very fragile, you also have a Velcro scratch for the Jack
  • This system works on 9v battery and can provide approximately 500H of use, make a rough calculation of your hours to determine the cost.hangdefinitely. If the level drops, changRemove the battery as soon as possible.
  • Plugging in the jack activate the battery. Unplug it as soon as possible to preserve it.
  • For advanced users: Your system can operate on phantom power (the battery does not wear out) and provide a balanced signal using a balanced link cable equipped with a Jack stereo on the instrument side and an XLR socket on the amplification side. This mode of use requires your ATTENTIONYou must first plug in the Jack then then use the XLR to plug in / unplug. Indeed, when you plug in or unplug a Jack, short circuits occur which could be damaging to the preamps when phantom power is turned on. Ischell cannot be held responsible for any problems related to this mode of use.

Low cut

  • Open the Jack Like on the photo. A small switch is inside allowing three 180Hz / 360Hz / Flat positions.
  • The two switches on the left cut the bass below 360Hz (maximum cutoff, default position).
  • To have all the bandwidth (Flat), push the bottom switch to the right (the top one stays on the left).
  • The 180Hz position is obtained by putting the top switch on the right (the bottom one remains on the left).
