Thank you for purchasing a system ISCHELL. We are delighted to welcome you to the growing number of world-renowned music, technician, audio engineers and artist users who have chosen to use our systems.

We are at your disposal and we will always remain so over time, for any question relating to the use of our systems on your instrument. Your complete satisfaction is a priority for us. Consult the online help and contact us if necessary.

  • The model 1X48+CJ / CPJ is a system with a remote pre-amp that operates on a 9v battery with a battery life of 500 hours, or on phantom power. It receives the signal from the microphone via a cable Jack mono, has a volume control and independent outputs in Jack and XLRs. The micro CPJ kit is removable and adapts to many instruments, the micro CJ kit is installed in the instrument with a 12mm hole for the Jack. These microphone kits can be equipped with the various contact microphones C1, C2 or C3.
  • All our products are manufactured and assembled in France by hand, with awareness and respect for a job well done, only with high quality components, for products that we hope will bring you satisfaction for many years on stage, in the studio and at each of your performances amplified.
  • We strongly recommend that you take a few minutes to read this manual. Indeed, it is important to respect a few principles in order to benefit simply and quickly from these new systems.

What you need to know

  • Always unplug your instrument, or turn the volume down completely before trying a new placement or changing the low cut.
  • Wash your hands before kneading the putty and carefully clean the bonding areas before doing your tests, they must be dry, non-greasy, clean and smooth.
  • You will find two doses of audio adhesive putty with your system. A white and a gray, they do not have the same sound. Carefully read the instructions for preparing the various contact microphones and those relating to positioning on your instrument in this knowledge base.
  • Original C1 contact microphone preparation page
  • C2 and C3 contact microphones preparation page
  • Use only the audio adhesive putty ISCHELL ! Any other putty will distort the quality of the sound.
  • This system is like your instrument, it is fragile. Never pull on the cables, always remove the microphone gently from your instrument by taking it by the shell and gently rocking it while removing the putty, to avoid too sudden a suction effect because the membrane is fragile and to preserve the surface of your instrument.
  • Operation on 9v battery is activated when the output is plugged in Jack and can provide about 500 hours of use. Make a rough calculation of your hours to determine the changdefinitely. If the level drops, changez 9v battery as soon as possible. Unplug it Jack out at the end of the session to preserve the 9v battery.
  • This system can operate on phantom power when connected via XLR.
  • In the presence of phantom power, the 9v battery does not wear out.
  • The system is delivered to you with the low cut on the 360Hz position. However, if after finding the best positioning, you lack width in the bass, then try the intermediate position 180Hz or Flat to have all the bandwidth. Additional information will be given to you in the “installation on your instrument” section of this knowledge base.
  • In the case of the use of the double face to fix one of the elements of the system, avoid putting your fingers on the sticky part as much as possible. Gently twist the piece to loosen it.
  • For some instruments, adhesive putty is also provided to you in order to fix the elements inside a guitar for example or for very fragile varnishes.

Low cut

  • Two small switches are available on the upper surface allowing three positions 180Hz/360Hz/Flat.
  • The two switches on the left cut the bass below 360Hz, maximum cut.
  • The 180Hz position is obtained by putting the top switch on the right, the bottom one remains on the left.
  • To have all the bandwidth in Flat, push the bottom switch to the right, the top one remains on the left.
