- The electronics of the models X48JC3-T and C4-T is based on transistors, which gives it great precision throughout the spectrum and particularly in the low frequencies, a clear and rich sound in the treble. It consists of the module X48The J is complemented by a C3 or C4 contact microphone kit with removable, fixed, or double bass-specific mounting. A new type of contact microphone developed by the brand ISCHELL since 2008 in order to reproduce with the greatest fidelity the acoustics of your instrument, the attack, the timbre, the wood color, your playing and your playing nuances, without the problems of feedback and without capturing the sounds that surround you. Our hybrid technology works without a filter between the membrane and the soundboard of your instrument. We thus reproduce on a reduced and isolated scale an aerial sound recording, controlled by the immediate environment of our specific audio adhesive putty.
- The sound is comparable to an aerial microphone, fidelity, warmth, width, air… With the acoustic insulation and the feedback resistance of a cell allowing high levels face / returns. You can easily use it in an amp, apply effects or make clean loops. A revolution in the amplification of many instruments on stage! An innovation ISCHELL !
- All our products are manufactured and assembled in France by hand, with the awareness and respect for a job well done, only with high quality components, for products that we hope will bring you satisfaction for many years on stage. , in the studio and at each of your amplified performances.
- You've made the right choice; this model is easy to use. The electronics are separate from your instrument, making them easily accessible and preventing them from adding unnecessary weight to lightweight instruments. It operates using 48-volt phantom power. This model is compatible with a wide range of instruments.
- We strongly recommend that you take a few minutes to read this manual. Indeed, it is important to respect a few principles in order to benefit simply and quickly from these new systems.
What you need to know !
- Always unplug your instrument before attempting a new placement or changing the High-Pass.
- Wash your hands before kneading the putty and carefully clean the bonding spots before doing your tests, they should be dry, non-greasy, clean and smooth.
- You will find two doses of audio adhesive putty with your system. A white and a gray, they do not have the same sound.
- Carefully read the instructions for preparing the various contact microphones and those relating to positioning on your instrument in this knowledge base.
- Use only the audio adhesive putty ISCHELL ! Any other putty will distort the quality of the sound.
- Preparation page for contact microphones C2, C3 and C4
- Positioning the microphones on your instrument
- These systems require a balanced link cable (TRS – Stereo) between the microphone kit and the preamp to ensure optimal performance. The system X48The JC-3T will work with a cable Jack Mono, but the sound will be partially degraded. The system X48JC4-T will not work with a cable Jack bun, a symmetrical connecting cable Jack TRS is needed.
- This system requires 48v phantom power to operate.
- The use of high-pass (or low cut) is not mandatory and depends on the instruments. switch on the box allows two positions: Flat and 180Hz. The Flat position corresponds to the flat line. Look for the best positioning and sound balance with the Flat position, if you achieve this, you will have all the bandwidth of the microphone, which offers more options for EQ settings. If feedback in the bass occurs very quickly in all your tests, do not hesitate to use the cut position, turn the volume completely down before operating the switch.
- This system is like your instrument, it is fragile. Never pull on the cables, always remove the microphone gently from your instrument by grasping it by the shell and gently tilting it while removing the putty, to avoid too abrupt a suction effect because the membrane is fragile and also to preserve the surface of your instrument.
